If you plan to transfer to a university and want all of your college-level ECC courses to transfer, you’ll need to do two things soon after starting here: 1) Choose a major and 2) choose a transfer school.
Course requirements vary by both major and transfer school. That means the courses you take to transfer to DePaul for a major in business will be different from the courses your friend is taking to major in business at NIU.
Naturally, it is best to make informed decisions about major and transfer school and we can help you with both. Choosing a major (and future occupation) can be accomplished through career planning with our career specialists in Career Development Services. You may benefit from taking the Career Assessment Package (CAP) which consists of inventories to assess your interests, personality and values. Students are charged $20 for the CAP, but there is no cost for the interpretation of the results by the career specialist.
Choosing a transfer school is easier when you attend one of the many college fairs ECC offers each year and/or take a bus trip with us to visit a particular school. I will add a post here soon on questions you may want to ask admissions counselors from transfer schools to see if their school is right for you.
